Oregon is one of 40 states that has developed its own framework for comprehensive school counseling programs. Oregon’s current framework, revised in 2018, is consistent with the 3rd edition of the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) Model, with one exception: Oregon has a fourth developmental domain:  Community Involvement, which addresses the importance of student “contribution to their community.” (Framework, p.19).
