By the conclusion of this module, the counseling team will be able to:
State clearly among the members of your team and to your partners why comprehensive school counseling programs are critical for student success as well as the benefits CSCPs provide to parents, educators, counseling teams, administrators, the community, and business and industry. (Framework, p.6 & 7)
Understand how to use ORS 329.603, OAR 581-022-2060, Oregon’s Framework, and School Counselor Ethical Guidelines to develop and implement a Comprehensive School Counseling Program.
Understand how to intentionally approach development and improvement of your school or district CSCP using an equity lens.
Provide to school board members and school administrators a presentation that shares information about (a) The benefits accruing to students and all partners from having a CSCP, (b) What the Board should know about the OARs, Framework, and Ethical Guidelines.
